What song am I tangled in? I'd actually recorded my song right before this and ended the episode and looked at my phone and just saw the devastating news that Dolly Parton has passed away at 80 years old.

[sighs] As I sit here with my book, Songteller, detailing all of her songs and what they mean, and so many have meant so much to me over the years.

I really loved her bluegrass era, and, uh, I love a lot of her sad songs like "Down from Dover" and "Mountain Angel." I really love "The Grass is Blue." But if I'm just gonna choose one song to talk about, I, uh, I wanna talk about "Light of a Clear Blue Morning," which I think is so full of hope and, uh, overcoming obstacles and seeing the good and the hope and the, the light at the end of the tunnel, and I think many of us can use that right now.

I think Dolly always brought that light and that glow and that spirit, so I think we can all listen to this song right now and hopefully dance to it as it builds and builds, and it's kind of a country gospel revival type of a song.

I can see the light of a clear blue morning, and everything's gonna be all right.

It's been a long, long time since I've known the taste of freedom and those clinging vines that had me bound.
