Colour Me Intrigued

A pair of sports oddities that we would want to highlight on this Friday if we don't mind doing that.

In the National Hockey League last night, goals galore.

Vancouver beat Edmonton in Edmonton two nights ago, I think it was 6-5 in overtime or 7-6 in overtime.

Last night, the Oilers won in Vancouver in the rematch 9-7.

They had an 8-2 lead and held on to win 9-7.

But we had a goalie goal at Madison Square Garden.

Really? Yeah, I actually have some sound on that.

if I can press all the right buttons.

Here at the Garden, April 18th, 1999, with the Rangers against the Penguins, Shostakovich will shoot for the empty net! He scores! He scores! Igor has done it! The first Ranger goaltender to score a goal!

Tampa Bay decided to pull the goalie at 4-1.

So Rangers goalie Igor Shosturkin fired the puck into the empty net.

About 190 feet away.

Neat.

Yeah, goalie goals are cool, right? Oh, yeah.

Yeah, so that'll be something that you might talk about today or see on your social media.

And, Brett, we were having a conversation about your golf game tomorrow.

Yes.

You're golfing with two of the three guys you're golfing with tomorrow have interesting, shall we say, NFL affiliations?

Yep, yep.

My buddy A.J., Is a Cincinnati Bengals fan? I strongly

endorse that decision.

Am I saying that right? Cincinnati? Oh, yeah.

Probably 20% of the people in Cincinnati call it Cincinnati.

Okay.

And one of the other guys, Mike, is a Cleveland Browns fan.
