Like, you know, leaving the house, it's still dark out.
You know, the, the grass is wet.
Uh, it kind of smells like football.
Um, obviously, when you're in situations like this, I know it's not technically do or die, but it feels like a playoff atmosphere.
And, uh, I can't wait to hear the rest of his comments because I know you were listening to them earlier, and were emotional, so I just, I stayed away.

Yeah, I li- I, I like when, when we both do that and, and learn along with our listeners what's going on behind the scenes.

Obviously, questions about his health, questions about his long-term future, and we'll also play some audio from a video, beautiful video produced, uh, by the Winnipeg Football Club, and it's a behind-the-scenes look at Zach Collaros and his family.

Uh, some people don't realize that, like, 10 years ago, 11 years ago, Zach Collaros was hotly pursued by the Blue Bombers as a free agent, and refused to come to Winnipeg.

They were basically willing to pack up the Brinks truck to bring him to Winnipeg, and he said, "No thank you." And now here we are several years later, and he's got some incredible feelings about his connection to Winnipeg.

It all worked out in the end, but it's always, uh, fascinating to, to look back on, on how much sooner Zach Clares could have been in Winnipeg and could have been enjoying the atmosphere here.

And so when he finally comes here via trade, and then to hear the things we'll hear in just under an hour's time, it's, uh, it's pretty special.

I know there's a guy that plays hockey that doesn't wanna play here anymore, and I'm not so certain it's that big, that has that much to do with Winnipeg itself, but just other larger circumstances for Connor Hellebuyck.
