Banff

When people think about fall in Banff, they usually think about larches because that's what you see most online.

It's already been a week since I've started seeing people post of them, and realistically, we're still probably a week away from them actually changing color.

But yes, larch season is incredible.

You probably already know it's one of my favorite times of year here.

But you absolutely do not need to hike into Larch Valley to see beautiful fall colors around the Canadian Rockies.

There are golden aspens around Kananaskis, Canmore, and Banff, easy walks, beautiful drives, and even a few really good ways to see larches without committing to a big hike.

So today I'm sharing some of my favorite easy places to enjoy fall colors around Banff and the surrounding area.

So, yeah.

Then I went to Banff, Alberta.

It was 2002 for the Banff Center for the Arts three-week jazz workshop.

I think they had just ceased to call it the jazz workshop, and it had changed names to the workshop for... jazz and creative music, I think, run by Dave Douglas at the time.

He was the head of the program.

They have a museum.

If you go to Wembley, you don't have to go to Banff.

Don't worry, everything is there.

Those are ways to raise money.

We are three business owners from across the globe, specifically from North Carolina, Minnesota, and Calgary.

Which, by the way, Eric is coming up to visit Banff here in the next couple of weeks.

The joke became a product because the context changed.

Air from Banff is a gag gift when you're in Calgary.

Air from Banff is a luxury good when you're in Beijing, and the particulate count is off the charts.

And that's a wild shift.

There's something almost romantic

about it.

You can't visit Banff, but you can breathe it.

That's an amazing story.

And, you know, as somebody who spent a lot of time camping across Alberta, I'm Alberta, Canada, born and raised, spent a lot of time in Jasper, spent a lot of time in Banff, some of the most beautiful places on earth.

They are absolutely incredible.

Yes, so where to start? I guess we kind of started launching more seriously our duo as well because we got the opportunity to tour with Prairie Debut initially and Yeah, it was also another blessing because I felt like that opened up a whole can of worms of possibilities that we could do that probably we didn't think at the time.

And one of the or the person that runs uh prairie debut is called paul she's amazing and she was very supportive from the beginning and she was you know suggesting us different things of like you should apply to this you should apply to that why didn't you apply to the view atlantic you know all of these things and then we started like applying for more things and then we did a tour with the the atlantic And we went to Banff also because, you know, Poe suggested and it was something that we wanted to do.

But I feel like having that extra support from someone who has experience with other artists was

huge.

this start? I think that one of the, well, the main person, the person who runs this ensemble is called Aparna Halper.

She's amazing.

Do you want to look at her stuff? She reached out to me because a friend of hers who met me in Banff suggested her to contact me.

And she was like, hey, if you're ever looking for a pianist, I would just heard this person, you know? And so a partner contacted me, we went out for coffee and she was like, Hey, would you be interested, you know, and be part of the, of the group? She had a different pianist at the time and her pianist was considering retiring very soon, just in general.

And so the easiest is to talk about myself.

You'll see this in social settings where somebody will say, hey, I'm going up to Banff, Canada.

And the immediate response is, me too.

And then the rest of the conversation is about my vacation instead of your trip to Banff.

How would you respond

otherwise? And I understand that, but I'm just curious about your example.
