The Sal Licata Show Episode 194: Taylor Vippolis joins the show, Yankees presser and Knicks opener

But there was one thing I was thinking about as I was driving into work to SMY yesterday as it pertains to Hal and Cashman.

Now, I understand that Brian Cashman has had the most sustained success that we have seen.

I mean, it's second to none, really, in sport.

You're talking about 30 years, never have a losing season, 90-plus wins, it seems, every single year in the postseason, more often than not.

I know it's been a long time, the longest time, as a matter of fact, in Yankees history between championships, 2009, the last one.

I get all that, but...

He has had great success.

And Hal, I don't know if I would deem him a great owner, but let's not make it like Hal doesn't spend.

Right now, I'm not trying to make excuses for them.

Everything I stand by, or everything I said yesterday, I stand by.

You could go back and check it out on YouTube.

I thought that they don't believe that there's a problem.

That, to me, is the biggest problem.

They could, I agree it's not Boone.

I agree it's the offense.

Now it's okay.

We'll peel back one more little teeny layer.

How did you get that offense? I heard Michael Kay say this yesterday.

The players didn't acquire themselves.

And that's, I thought, a great line, a great way to say it.

So it would be looking at the person who brought in those players.

Anyway, nobody would argue with the sustained success that the Yankees have had.

And on the flip side, nobody would argue that the Mets have been An embarrassment.

I don't think there's any way to sugarcoat it.

I would try to be kind, but the last two seasons in particular have been nothing short of an embarrassment.
