CJ CamerieriGuestJohn SnellHostSo and a lot of North America's, uh, dealing with a heat wave, so this'll be a good time to head down to Australia to our friends down under, where they're, uh, in the midst of winter as we speak.
Uh, we sold out on alignments again, sold three or four Charlie Davis trumpets, found some good homes for those.
So many great players there, young and old, professional and comeback player or just hobbyist.
Uh, met lots of great people, including a shout-out to Russ, came up on the very first, uh, opening day to say that he loves the podcast and listens every night as he's cooking.
And what's even cooler is his wife listens along and apparently enjoys the sound of my voice.
[chuckles] So, uh, that was a great way to kick off ADUMFest, by having Russ stop by and say hello, along with, uh, several others of you who are dedicated podcast listeners.
They did a big band concert on Saturday night after everything shut down, and, uh, they swapped through.
They hire the, a big band, and then they have a trumpet s- section that swaps through for all of the, um, the students and the presenters, the presenting artists at ADUMFest.
[chuckles] So it was myself and Matthew Collins from the Reeves booth, Ben Strickland from the, uh, Greg Black, and Michael Capps, can't figure f- Mike Capps and Ben Strickland from the Greg Black booth, and Fred Powell, of course, from Conn-Selmer.
So we pl- uh, made up the trumpet section, played a couple tunes, uh, w- in the midst of packing up our booths to head home, but it was a lot of fun.
A lot of fun to actually get the instrument out and remember, uh, why we do what we do.
