I hope you enjoyed that one.

A quick note here to say that there was a clip in there when Fantano and Annie Clark aka St Vincent were talking about ADHD and how it might relate to their artistic obsessiveness.

I'm always going to lean towards safe grounds here when discussions around diagnoses are brought up.

And when it comes within a very personal piece from myself too, So I guess I'll just say my own experience around this, which is that I'm not diagnosed with ADHD.

Iggy Pop, Killer Mike, Korn, Manchester Orchestra, Mastodon, Rise Against, Show Me the Body, Sleater-Kinney, St. Vincent, Vince Staples.

It's all over the place.

I study in order to put myself in a mental space to be able to achieve a unique sound.

I was in the studio with St. Vincent a couple years

ago.

And

And I don't think this is a guilty pleasure because anybody who actually spent any time with it knows it's fucking genius.

St. Vincent.

Have you seen St. Vincent live? I have not, but I love her early records.

She's fucking amazing.

And her band is amazing.

A year later, he emails me.

And I guess there's so much to be said as well for a new, younger audience coming across Dexys.

In the book you talk about Jack Antonoff, who's a hugely celebrated producer, worked with Lorde and St Vincent, came to a Dexys show a couple of years ago and said that that band was the blueprint for his own work.

Have you heard maybe any other contemporary musicians you've crossed paths with that have really made you realise kind of the weight of your legacy?

There was a guy from the 1975 with Jack in that dressing room when I met him, you know.

The Metallica blacklist was pretty remarkable moment.

Uh, your cover of Enter Sandman, it's amazing, uh, alongside, uh, Ghost and St. Vincent and Chris Stapleton too, right?

We have?

Yes.

And I didn't really s- Like, I saw it a little bit in the performance, a little bit.

But you hear more of the inspiration being more like St. Vincent-

Yeah

...

Right.

Same year, I also remember that St. Vincent's self-titled album was everywhere-

Mm

... and I was listening...

... took turns fronting Nev-

Yeah, St. Vincent did a turn

...

Nirvana.

Yeah, St. Vincent, Joan Jett, and I think Kim Gordon was, was in there too.

Ooh.

And then they also did a version of that sort of at, uh, at Fyre Fest at the beginning of 2025, if you remember that.
