In this Solo Dolo Brolo Bellybutton Extravaganza Episode, I invite you all to my fireside chat where we discuss things that've been on my mind of late. I talk about, Consciousness, Geoffrey Hinton and…
I don't like the idea of, like, putting stuff behind the paywall when, when it's just me.
Now, I understand if, you know, if, if it's other people are involved, um, especially people who, who are, you know, expecting to be remunerated in some type of way or whatever.
Um, or if there's, I don't know, like, if there's secret special stuff going on or whatever, um, I totally get why it, it makes sense and it's appropriate to have stuff behind the paywall.
But when it's just me rambling and stuff like that, I don't, I don't know.
I don't like the idea of s- of having stuff on the paywall.
There's a lot of people who do, like, an hour up front and then an hour behind the paywall, and I've never...
I don't like that model, and I don't think anybody likes that model.
I think that model's stupid and horrible.
Um, and yeah.
So I do try to, I don't know, keep, like, a th- like, everything, I don't know.
I, I think just, like, do it for free 'cause who...
You shouldn't be paying for this.
Um, but then, I don't know, there's also this, like, mentality of, of, like, remuneration.
You know, re- pay me for my labor and blah, blah, blah.
I don't know.
That's just weird.
Seems like another, [coughs] another gig, uh, you know, turning whatever your creative outlet, your intellectual outlet, whatever the thing you do for, for fun or for personal edification or for, you know, exploration, turning that into a job.
I think that's why a lot of people who, like, create content or whatever or do stuff on the internet, I think that's why they, uh, turn into miserable people, uh, because they genuinely start out, like, pursuing something that, you know, for their passion, and then it just turns into another job or whatever.
I do think there's a way to manage it, um, where you can pursue and you can engage in, in your passionate pursuits, passion projects, um, and you can also, like, um, you know, have people support and, and, and stuff like that.
Like, I, I do think there's a way to do that.
But I don't know.
Largely, I think it's weird having a paywall or whatever.
Um, so this probably won't be paywalled, but it also might be paywalled because it's just low quality.
