Ferris Bueller's Day Off

That's mine.

Blaine, have you ever seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off?

Mm-hmm.

Okay.

We called it skipping school.

We did have a workshop we really did wanna go to, but because we have been literally like educationed out and we kind of missed the pool and the normal vacation stuff, we decided to have a Ferris Bueller's day off, skip the class we were gonna go to.

And instead we spent the day in the pool together We also went down to the Oral Odyssey course or workshop run by Dr. Stephanie.

Now, this is something I heard about before I even met Dr. Stephanie.

do the homework in their own hand, their own handwriting, and then upload the assignment.

I mean, at one level, you're impressed, but in that kind of Ferris Bueller way where you're like, oh, God, I can't believe you did that, although kind of impressive, but God, I can't believe you did that.

So what do you do with a student like that?

Yeah, and that's why I think what are we defining as learning and how are we assessing has to be the forefront of every conversation.

Legacy is a very important part, right? And it's too easy to get caught up in the moment of, well, actually I like to relate it.

You guys ever seen the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off? Yeah.

Yeah.

Ferris Bueller day off.

And then Mrs. Poole.

And also, what's her face? From Ferris Bueller.

grace yes grace right grace yeah yeah yeah yeah she was she she's in it too

so i gotta

It takes quite a bit to get through it.

And then after that I started watching Ferris Bueller's Day Off and I remember that that was a fucking boring ass movie.

Yeah.

Because half of the movie is just Ferris Bueller sitting in his fucking bedroom.

Like I get that the movie is Ferris Bueller's Day Off but fucking hell can't do something.

Yeah.

I've wagged school before, bro.

You

gotta Ferris Bueller it right now.

Like, can you figure out just like how to get here? And I'm like, whoa, dude, you're the adult.

Right.

All right.

I had a chem teacher in high school who had the same personality as the teacher from Ferris Bueller.

He played accordion in a touring polka band.

That's

I didn't have to get it detailed all the time.

I didn't have to give the dude an extra $20 at the valet to make sure that it didn't get Ferris Bueller or whatever.

And I just started building up more and more gratitude for it.

And then some magic started happening.
