Kate Williams & Robert Hardman | Royals On ‘The Crown’?! David Attenborough's Past & Etiquette Rules

I, I'm, I've always loved, um, I have to say, um, George IV was-

Yeah

... uh, particularly.

He was just appalling in every way.

[laughs]

Um, you know, behaved atrociously.

Um, he was a complete fantasist.

Um, but he did, and he, he almost bankrupted the monarchy, but he bought all the amazing art and treasure that you still see there today.

So you can still sort of see and enjoy his handiwork-

Yeah

...

but he was an absolute rotter.

And he made Buckingham Palace look good.

He did, yeah.

That, I mean, we can thank him for that.

But he-

He made it look like a giant shell of a lion or a giant cake

...

but I mean, he kicked his own wife, he kicked his own queen out of his, out of his coronation.

I mean, you know, he, he, he-

Poor thing had to knock on the door saying, "I'm your queen.

Can I come in?"

I love that story so much.

Because he tried to divorce her.

So awful.
