Hardware Asylum at Computex 2026

Yeah, CompuDex.

It is the one trade show that I think has 100% relevancy with anything that would have to do with hardware asylum and other hardware review websites.

That's a bold statement.

So maybe we assume our folks are familiar, but what is CompuDex for those that are unaware?

Well Computex is, it's an evolving show is really what it is.

So back in, when I first started to go back in 2003, oh my God, a long time, the Computex was a show really established to promote what Taiwan could do.

The exhibits that they had on display were from Taiwanese manufacturers and others that got invited.

And it was sales focused.

So pretty much everybody in the booth was a salesman.

There might be a marketing person there.

You kind of had to ask for them.

Okay.

But the displays were as such, this is all we have.

So this is not CES back in the day with the booth babes and all the fanfare.

Yeah.

of? Kind of.

Well, so CES with the booth babes was, you know, the whole reason you have booth babes, even at like a gaming show or even at a car show, is to draw attention to your product or to you,

right? Well, and that makes sure you get in the press, which is important.

Exactly.

Well, in these early days of Computex, there were booth babes everywhere.

The Taiwanese models were in high, high demand.

And they would be, you know, eye candy for the booth to attract people.

But most of them were handing out flyers.

So someone would have like a sign and they'd just walk the show floor and hand out flyers to people.
