16.40 - Issues of the Day # 8

That's just something we started talking about because it just came out as we're recording this.

Prime Video or Amazon Video, however you guys want to call it.

uh this earlier this week there was a new carrier a series this time not a movie but uh carry the series i guess we'll call it by mike flanagan who did um haunted of hill house and some other ones on netflix now he came over to amazon prime and redid put his put his uh flavor on carry I'm not going to do a review.

I'll just say it's good.

I enjoyed it.

I actually liked it.

But my issue that I want to talk about, I want to have the boys talk about, the issue that I have after watching it is as I got to the finale, I started thinking this.

The 1976 Brian De Palma film, the original Carrie, we'll say that a lot of you, you have that on your must watch Halloween movies.

And a lot of you know that movie.

A lot of you have seen probably the remakes that you've probably read Stephen King's book.

Maybe not John Klang because he was like a third lead not to read.

But everybody else, you probably read the book, the novel, the book version that it's based on.

So you're all pretty much familiar with Carrie is what I'm saying.

Now, like I said, the one that's on Prime now is pretty good, except for the one thing that is the issue that I want to talk about.

And it was this.

All the women are victims and powerful women have always been persecuted by men throughout history.

Now, it's a theme that makes perfect sense the first time that it's mentioned in the series.

It's in one episode.

And I was like, yeah, yeah, it makes sense.

It fits into what we see.

I'm not going to give spoilers.

Makes sense of what you see in the episode.

But then you do it again and again and again and one more time just to make sure that you get it.

And where's the hammer? One more time.

Oh, now that I have a hammer, let me do it a few more times.

That's just something we started talking about because it just came out as we're recording this.
