let me read the first giving of the Fourth Commandment, although...

It has been prepared in Genesis 1 with God's creation of the world and then with the manna.

Before the giving of the law, he says, hey, you gather bread six days and then you rest the seventh.

So this has been in preparation.

But it says, remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

Six days you shall labor and do all your work.

the seventh day is a sabbath day to the lord your god on it you shall do no work or shall not do any work you or your son or your daughter your male servant your female servant or your livestock or the sojourner who's within your gates for in six days the lord made heaven and earth the sea and all that is in them and rest on the seventh day therefore the lord blessed the sabbath day and made it holy and then let me just add in the second giving of the law in deuteronomy 5 it is grounded, this command is grounded in the fact that you were slaves and God rescued you from slavery in Egypt.

So in the first giving, it's based in creation.

In the second giving, it's based in salvation.

And we, Nick and I, when we talk about this, would say that's not a dichotomy.

That's an expansion.

Yeah, I want to talk on that.

Have you preached the Ten Commandments as one sermon, as ten sermons, as two sermons? How have you sort of broken it down typically?

Yeah, I've preached it twice through, and both times have taken a commandment at a time.

So none of our guys took it as like the two tables kind of thing.

I did.

Well, I mentioned the two tables, but I didn't preach them as two tables.

I just preached them one at a time.
