In this episode of The Catholic Talk Show, Ryan, Ryan, & Fr. Michael explore what The Church teaches happens when you die. 00:00 What Happens When You Die? 01:11 Why Catholics Should Think About…
You know, I was reading this statistic the other day and they're talking about the rate of people who die And they found that one out of every one person dies.
I'm not really a statistics guy because I think they could really bake in a lot of you know fudging numbers in there, but I believe
I mean, you'll see all the great artwork, you know, like Jerome will have a skull on his desk and they would contemplate their death every single day.
And it's almost like that warning, you know, keep the light turned because you never know when the bridegroom is going to come.
And we're all going to die and being prepared for it and understanding it is a super important part of, you know, this race that we're running.
And I think that's almost kind of like been sort of lost, I feel, in modern Catholicism, Christianity, where that's like a depressing thing where, yeah, where people don't want to think about it, don't want to talk about it.
But we can have other episodes where we talk about kind of like the practicalities of this, but the spiritual realities of death.
And it's so good to keep that in mind, not as a morbid thing, but as, yeah, I want to be ready for that moment whenever it does come.
I mean, you see all like the artwork, you see even the vestments, you know, with the skulls on the black vestments.
