The Bill & Alison Mencarow Show
Sep 15, 2026 · 1 hr 16 min · 20 segments
Celebrating Straight Month! Plus what's wrong with the Presbyterian church, history, trivia, parodies, making fun of leftists, and a whole lot more!
Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times, the things that are not yet done.
You know, I can't recommend highly enough the book of Sermons by Jonathan Edwards called The History of the Work of Redemption.
He shows how throughout history the Lord has redeemed a covenant people for himself.
The book's a narrative survey of the redemptive work of God in history from the fall of man to the final return of Christ.
And he shows from Scripture that every event in history, without exception, is part of Christ's grand work of redemption.
He believed the world is controlled not by Satan, but by the sovereign Lord God of the Bible.
Who tells us in his word that Satan is in control of nothing? If you just pick up the Bible and read the first couple of chapters of Job, and you'll see that Satan has to ask the Lord permission to do anything.
As Hudson Taylor wrote, all of our difficulties are only platforms for the manifestation of his grace, power, and love.
