I'm going to start out, throw right into the fracas, what the heck.

As you heard Michael Percha tell you in the news, the tolls, And the two toll bridges in Bay City are proposed to increase a couple of bucks.

And I just, I have to tell you, I just shake my head now.

I also have to tell you, I don't have a horse in the race because I don't live in Bay City.

I do go there.

And when I do, I'm usually coming in from the south.

So I'm either going to use...

the Lafayette Bridge when it gets rebuilt, or I use Vets Bridge, rarely do I find myself thinking about going over the other two bridges.

Now, I did about a month and a half or two months ago.

I found myself in Bay City.

A friend of mine and I were having lunch down by the river where the Edison is birthed, and there's a nice pavilion down there, and we decided we'd go there for lunch, and we did.

And on the way out, I said, what the heck? And I have a transponder.

I don't have a Bay City transponder.

I have an E-ZPass transponder in my car.

So I said, you know, I'll spend the two bucks just to see what it's all about.

So I drove over the bridge.

But I didn't have to.

I chose to.

Those people that live in Bay City and commute that way and have to go over the bridges, I really have a great deal of empathy for them.

I don't know the contract language.

But everything I've heard about the agreement with the Bay City Bridge Partners has been negative.

And it appears, and again, I'm not a lawyer, so I don't want to pretend that I'm acting like one.

But everything I've been told by those who do know that it was a pretty ironclad contract for, what, 75 years? Some ridiculous number and ridiculous cost to get out of it.
