Ryan Rendon sits down with Russ York, Head of School and Director of Instruction for Grades 9–12 at Ambleside School of Fredericksburg, for a conversation about faith, education, parenting, curiosity…
The power of storytelling though, how it can waken young people to realize, you know, that they do have potential, whatever it may be.
And I remember I've had, yeah, I had a few teachers throughout my, His school years that were able to tell stories very well.
And, you know, I just wonder, you know, if you could somehow a teacher can implement storytelling and not just history, but maybe all subjects of how that could get students more engaged.
You know, if that's even possible, like how do you storytell in math class? Yeah, I don't know.
But help people, help these kids kind of realize, yeah, I mean, what they're there for, you know, but through storytelling.
And how that story gets told would vary from, you know, class to class and that kind of thing.
And so if that's true, then we also revel in these smaller stories that reveal smaller parts of that grand story.
So we can connect with all the different components of this bigger narrative being told if the storytelling is true.
