What if a diagnosis changes your entire future before you have time to process what is happening? In this episode of *Take Back Your Health®*, Dr. Amy Myers sits down with Jordan Rubin to discuss…
Amy MyersHostYes, and with that introduction, I apologize I don't look older, because I [chuckles] I started this when I was so young, so people expect, uh, some gray beard.
But, uh, candidly, Amy, my wife tells me I should grow out a beard, and I said, "After 46, you don't wanna see what that's gonna look like"
"... uh, unless I have a Sharpie to color it." So I have been blessed, Amy, to have been through several life-altering, if not death-defying experiences, and I cherish that experience now because it gives me a platform not only to help people navigate their health challenges but really give them hope.
And so that is something I like to be is an ambassador of hope because you and I are both seeing a, I would say, exponential growth in chronic degenerative disease, certainly cancer diagnoses, childhood diseases.
It's, it's really unlike anything the world has ever seen, and so we want to be that beacon of hope so someone watching and/or listening can feel like they can get from where they are to where they dream of being.

I mean, I, I, I tell people often this, the generation that's coming up now, seeing these cancers in their, you know, people in their 20s and 30s, children with autoimmune conditions, they're seeing this as normal now and not something unusual.

I mean, I think I'm actually, uh, quite a bit older than you, maybe even by a decade.

And when I was growing up, the amount of autoimmunity, y- it was so rare, and then cancers as well, and now it's hitting everybody.

Well, before we get there, you have a profound journey, uh, speaking of cancer, a profound story and journey that I would love for you to share, just kind of your story and how it all started for you in this world.
