Abner RamirezGuestChristy York WootenHostI mean, I think Georgia Capon, the 10 years, it's interesting to look back on music after a while and what it represented at the time and what it means now.
You know, Georgia Capon already felt like a mid-career album for me, for you guys, because I'd been, you know, at the Music Hall, and I'd been at Spoleto and all these sort of early-
But it's so fun to look back and think, like, kind of, I hate to use the word brand because I don't want that to sound like a commercial endeavor, but the kind of way the lens that you've shown the world your life as a unit, and now it's like this thing that's just like, "Hey, see, see what I built," you know?
It's almost like an architectural type of puzzle that has come out, like wow.
I think, I mean, I, I, I love to hear your perspective on it 'cause that's really cool.
'Cause when you're in it, you're just doing what you know to do, and I think that was always, that was always kind of our, you know, our thing.
I think especially me coming from a, uh, you know, my mom and this, you know, Donna Summer's your mom kind of thing, and y- you know, you wanna honor it and you also don't wanna, like, constantly be doing somebody else's thing or y- y- I guess you're used to kind of some- somebody looking at you and saying, "Oh, I think I know who you are because I see this.
I see the outside picture." And so maybe, maybe because of that, it, it was m- even more important for us to just do what we knew to do and to not try to be anything else, whether it was had to do with my mom, whether it had to do with previous duos, whether it had to do, or current duos or anything else like that.
We always really felt incentivized to do our own thing, and I think a big part of that was my parents.
You know, you don't need to listen, you know, listen to what you love.
Be inspired by things that you love, but always be you 'cause if you're you, you never have to worry about-
You just, you know, be dedicated to being you and, and, and find that because I do think it takes finding that to some degree.
Um, and luckily, I think playing shows and, you know, touring and all the stuff that we got to do early on when we're, you know, Spoleto and all these, like, fun shows where you're just, like, playing everywhere with- in front of different people kinda helps you, you know, hone who you are.
