Tim RennerHostMy mother grew up on a sharecropping farm in Victoria County that my great-grandfather ran.
Three of his sons and their children lived and worked that land, and the Guadalupe River ran along the side of the property.
One late evening, my mother and nine of her cousins went for a walk.
They were near the end of their walk when one of the kids noticed something or someone crouched down on top of the river levee.
It frightened them not knowing who or what it might be.
Then it stood up, and they saw how large it was, taller than any adult they had ever seen.
It started walking towards them, and as it got to the barbed wire fence at the bottom of the levee, this thing crossed the fence in one stride.
They ran screaming.
My great-grandfather stepped out of his house, shotgun in hand, and fired off a round at the creature.
It turned towards the cornfield and was gone.
[mysterious music] They claim that our eyes were just a wee little slightly different than what they are.
When we talk, we see things that are not normal.
