I love that so much.

Uh, you guys, our, uh, own Carrie from the Etsy store that has all of our merch has new fall and Christmas merch.

Christmas Did you say Christmas? I know.

It's a little early.

Anybody making money off a wildlife post on social media.

Anybody with an Etsy page.

And listen to how wide the net is.

It covers any wildlife.

It also, like, should be used as an example now.

As somebody also who has an Etsy crew neck of all four of them with a little thing above that says, "Friends"-

Perfect

... because I like to, you know, merge things.

Yes.

Also I'm, side note, I'm a sucker for a Etsy crew neck.

And I guess one of the last two things I want to discuss today is, you know, if it wasn't for those forced, slightly forced, but get my ass in gear, redo, reboot, refresh, whatever...

And I saw these mini altars on TikTok from a person who has an Etsy shop of the Greek gods.

A little bit of the Egyptian, but mostly Greek.

I wouldn't have got them

that's, that's a good point.

And, and, I think it goes back to what we were talking about a few episodes ago about selling your work, that you have to have something really unique to be able to stand out in the Etsy of a million different things that are exactly the same thing.

But is there anything new under the sun?

No, no,

Yeah.

That is the scum of the earth.

That's what's making, like, that's what's giving pattern writing and Etsy a bad name.

um, you know, I wanted to celebrate because I got this real.

So, so I have a game room and on Etsy, I found, uh, this shop that sells the letters Kong, you know, like K O N G and like that gold plated.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Do you

mostly do finger paintings and try to sell it on Etsy? You need to get with an accountant.

Yes, exactly, exactly.

I am an artist, so maybe I need someone that's got a little more discipline to help me along.

But I would say I had a very negative experience from a past colleague where essentially they started stalking me.

Really? Yeah, they found every podcast I had ever been on, anything I'd ever mentioned in terms of a project, they found my Etsy account.

um and uh they wrote this long letter and essentially took it to hr and hr was like oh no you already told us like it's totally fine you're fine you already told us all of these things and nothing you're doing is wrong uh but somebody felt so strongly inclined that um i was like gonna bring down the integrity of science that uh they felt the need to do that and that was really um invasive and scary for me um especially when a lot of work I do is with Native communities and really integrating as best as I can with the questions and needs that they have.

And I also just feel like being open and talking about different topics is part of that openness.
