Ep 261: Stacey Talks New Additions, Hitting on a Draft Pick, and Vucevic Return

That leads us into one of the NBA topics we're going to cover in regards to Jason Tatum.

Remember all the heat Derrick Rose took when he sat out that entire year? Now Jason Tatum's kind of hinting like, yeah, I'm playing five-on-five and I'm doing some full-court work, but I'm not sure if I'm going to come back.

There's that mental hurdle you have to clear as well as the physical one.

Well, you know, we were talking to Boston people yesterday, some guys that are in the know, and they said he's progressing really nicely with the rehab and that he probably could come back.

But there's this, not in his mind like he couldn't come back.

I think what the guy told me yesterday, the team is playing so well without him and better than expected, he doesn't know where he's going to fit into when he does come back.

You know what I'm saying? Because when he left, he was option number one.

And now that he's out, Jalen Brown has ascended to the option number one.

They're much better than what people thought.

They thought, you know, once Porzingis was gone and then you lost Drew Holiday and you lost Al

Horford,

that they were going to be a team that might be in the playing game.

You know, but they've surprised everybody.

You know, they're not too far out of the number one seed in the Eastern Conference.

They played well all year long.

They started off slow at their first 12 games.

I think they had they were under 500, but they were able to right the ship and they've been one of the hottest teams since.

And now they added Vooch and Vooch had a big game against his former team.

What was that scene like? I know he's getting hugs from all his teammates and the coaches and everybody else.

Vooch obviously seems re-energized to be able to play for a team that's tied for second in the East right now.

Well, this is really his first opportunity to play for a winning team that has a chance to go deep into the playoffs, not just the first round, but possibly, you know, the Eastern Conference Finals and beyond.

So he's rejuvenated.

You know, I watched him yesterday, and I said this about Vooch.

I said once he got to Boston and he saw, you know, he played against Boston, so you know how they play.

You know, they compete on every possession.
