I wrote this maybe five hours ago, six hours ago, and it is Katie Simmers and Gabriel Medina win Portugal.
They both could have gone the other way very easily, which we'll get into.
There's already some people quite upset about at least one of the results.

Should we start? Should we just do the whole comp? I feel like maybe we should just kind of cover the whole thing.

I haven't been in Portugal for the whole thing, but man, for finally getting a CT event to potentially finish in two days, they really dragged this fucking thing out.
i mean yeah they probably ran like six days i think there were two days where they ran like between two to four heats or something like that um yeah it's weird it's one of those ones where they could have finished it earlier but there was like this lingering hope of the waves are going to get really good and i'm glad they held out like it was it was obviously the best day of the waiting period on finals day and um yeah we got some very legitimate surfing in some very legitimate waves so i think they did as about as good of a job as they could have

yeah i don't know do you like it's like there were good waves the morning was pretty average but there were probably like i think pedro probably right about it maybe it was still running but uh while katie was doing her victory speech i'm sorry Or not her victories, her runner up speech.

There were very good waves, waves that were better than anything we'd seen the entire event.
