Sawyer Lindblad

Here's what we have for Team USA competing at the World Surfing Games in Peru.

Carissa Moore, Gabrielle O'Brien, Sawyer Lindblad.

Griffin Colapinto, Cole Haushman, Jake Marshall.

That's a star-studded team.

She's probably a safer pick to just put up a few scores, but I think Betty's got more in the tank, and I think Betty can find a good tube out there as well, so I'm going with her.

Heat number two, Sawyer Lindblad versus Francisca Veselko.

Worth noting, Francisca did not make the postseason cut.

She's in this event as a wild card because she is Portuguese, but these points will not count toward her season total.

And on the women's side, Erin Brooks completing the three-peat back-to-back-to-back victories for the young Canadian Hawaiian Texan, and she defeated Gabrielle Bryan.

That leaves Gabby Bryan on top of the rankings, Carissa Moore in second, Sawyer Lindblad in third.

It is hard to believe... that Erin Brooks, despite three back-to-back wins, is still in fifth place.

She must have had an absolute shocker to start the season.

We just saw it in, um, at trestles as a real alternate path to victory was, was getting on your forehand and, and, and surfing, um, surfing for points that way.

And then obviously Fiji, we had a really good mix of, of turns and tubes, which, which is sort of the cloud break that I love.

So, you know, it's amazing to watch athletes like Cole Hashman and Yago Dora and Aaron Brooks and Sawyer Lindblad on, on their forehand.

And, and this feels like a year that they've had the opportunity to shine and, you know saw her in particular i think you know she is she is unbelievable on her forehand and um it's been great i always thought she was just a bit of a tatiana um throwback to you know able to throw yourself at a close out on your backhand and and make it but she's you know she's a great technical surfer on her forehand and i've really enjoyed watching the goofy sort of get a chance to shine this year uh harry man what about you highlight from the run so far

She got past her in pretty good fashion too.

And then Sawyer only narrowly got the better of her in the quarterfinals.

Like she very nearly could have found herself in the semis, which would have been crazy.

But I think she showed a little bit of what she's about.

First place, Gabrielle O'Brien.

Second place, Chris Amort.

Third place, Sawyer Lindblad.

Fourth place, Molly Picklam.
