It's so funny.

It's- it's kind of a weird one.

Um, this is, yeah, she's one of my best friends, and like, obviously she- she just came back from a two-year break and having her daughter, so when she told me she's coming back, there was like no doubt in my mind that she'd do great.

But to, if you would've told me that we'd be one and two, going back and forth, trading off the top spot, I wouldn't have believed you.

And it's like, it's so funny, 'cause after, um, the final at Lower's, she came down and watched, and, um, she was cheering me on, which is like, it's- it's incredible.

And the fact that Erin just won her third event in a row and Miggy just won a second event this year, like I never would have picked that to be the winners.

Like I would have gone probably Toledo and someone like Carissa Moore.

And it was just like super left field.

So it was epic.

So Miggy and Erin.

And this event is like notoriously dominated by natural footers.

Think guys like Parko, Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning on the women's side, Steph, massive one, Katie Simmons, Carissa Moore.

So all of these names just... you fall to the glory of the natural footers when you come to trestles.

The surfer before that was Carissa Moore.

Yeah.

I want to talk about some more women who have had three in a row wins on the championship tour.

Margot Oberg, Sofia Milanovic, Elaine Beachley, Carissa Moore, Melanie Redman Carr, Steph Gilmore, and now Erin Brooks adds her name to that list, Jessie.

That's a crazy domination to think about.

Three in a row, it's massive.

Now you're in that list, very short list, actually, in my opinion, of superheroes within the sport of competitive surfing.

Let's see her road to the final because she has just been on a domination as far as it goes to being in the South Pacific, then moving here to Trestles.

She started off the morning taking on what was a very informed Carissa Moore, and then she moved to the semifinals, had a heat with Molly Picklam.

Erin mentioned it was really scary because Molly had a chance.

I almost feel like the pressure's off her now.

Like, defending world champ, hasn't had the year she wanted.

Sal wasn't on the island either, so it's an interesting one, man.

I'll tell you what's really fascinating though is that if Steph gets through her first heat with Carissa in this thing, which I expect she will, she's gonna have Carissa Moore in that next round.
