Adam AaronsonGuestRBHostTony JonesGuestBut listen, man, we need to start it off with just the overall reaction to the game.
Of course, we're gonna dictate the LeBron thing here, because, I, I mean, this was our first ti- I guess the scrimmage, right? But this was the first time in game action where it was like, all right, LeBron, Jaylen Brown, VJ, Embiid, Maxie on the floor.
And of course, everybody's gonna overreact about the loss, right? Oh my gosh, they struggled against Brooklyn, down Michael Porter Jr., Dayron Sharp.
I do wanna say, a- and maybe this is me coping a little bit, I thought the Nets played phenomenal basketball yesterday.
Like, their defensive aggressiveness, their game plan was good.
But besides that, I took away a lot of positives.
I was surprised about all the negative reaction, mostly around Joel, which we'll get to.
But that first, like, eight to 10 minutes, I, I felt like I was living on a different planet.
And I think that was the moment, Adam, where it finally settled in, like, this offense is gonna be elite.
What did you think?

Um, it was hard to sort of fathom for a team that, that I would say since James Harden and the Sixers had their breakup three years ago, has not really had high-level passing at any point.

Like, they've had good individual passing, but they have never been a good passing team.

To all of a sudden have LeBron James dictating and orchestrating their offense, both in transition and, and also creating transition off of makes just by throwing those hit ahead passes.

And, you know, as good as they looked in that opening stint- It was that rough in the second quarter where they had 11 turnovers.

Like, they, they gave us a glimpse of what this can look like when everything is clicking and everybody is, you know, understanding exactly what they need to be doing on each given possession.

And, and what I'm excited for during the season is just starting to track, like, how often are we getting those glimpses of promise? How often are we getting those games where, man, like this looks like you said, like an elite offense where they look exactly as good as the talent on paper would indicate.

And then there are gonna be games this year where you're like, "This team has LeBron and Embiid and Jaylen and Tyrese and VJ, and they scored 105 points and they lost to the Hornets." Like, how did this happen? We're gonna get a whole lot of both of those, and, and I, I'm gonna try not to overreact too much to any of it.
Yeah.
