Matthew SyedHostDo you have any thoughts as to the unreasonable effectiveness of mathematics in physics?

This is Kurt interviewing the renowned linguist and philosopher Noam Chomsky for a third time on his channel in December 2020.
There are some theories that say the universe is just a mathematical object.
It's one of the ideas in physics, but basically nobody has any idea.

In his podcast, Kurt is searching for what's called a Weltanschauung, an all-encompassing perspective through which he can interpret the world.

A theory of everything that he can truly embrace, hence the name, Theories of Everything.
I have some connections here and there, and it's forming more and more as I interview people.
I know that I've studied for a guest when I can complete their thought, when I'm able to auto-complete their sentences, in a sense.
I often will watch their lectures and pause and then think, what are they going to say? If I'm not ready, I can't do the podcast.

Kurt goes so deep that he uses a version of a technique you might expect an actor to use, not a podcaster.
A colleague of mine said it was like a method acting, or it's method acting for intellectuals.
It's more propositional or mental, theoretical method acting, where I'm trying to inhabit the frame of mind of the guest.

An actor might spend a year inside the mind of their subject, but Kurt is stepping inside a different brain every
Of course, they have various theories of reality, and so it's constantly a spin.
It's like they're taking me and whipping me around and saying, OK, no, you thought reality was like this, but here's what it actually is.
