Chelek 29, Nitzavin-Vayelech - Mrs. Rivky Slonim

Pursuant to the Shabbos that precedes Rosh Hashanah, yadua piskum adam ha'zakin.

It is well known that there is a teaching, an adage from the Alte Rebbe, shashama meha maged b'shem ha'bal shem tov.

He heard this from the maged, who taught this in the name of the Baal Shem Tov, that ha'choidish ha'shvi... that the seventh month, meaning Tishrei, Hashem Himself blesses this month, this Shabbos Mevorachim.

We don't say the usual liturgy that we say Shabbos Mevorachim on the last Shabbos of Chedesh Elo.

And with the strength that Hashem vests into the month, then the Jews are able to bless the rest of the 11 months of the year.

And how does this express itself? What is the content of this blessing that Hashem gives on Shabbos Mevorchim, the last Shabbos of Chodesh Elul, before Chodesh Tishrei? The Baal Shem Tov continues.

It says in this week's parasha, And hayoim, that word today, actually refers to Rosh Hashanah.

Which is the day of judgment.

And like it says in iyoiv, And it was that day, Hayayim, with a hey, hayadiyah, the day that everybody knows you're talking about.

And the Targum explains, When it says Hayayim, the day, this is the day of the great judgment, otherwise known as Rosh Hashanah.

Va'atem nitzavim.

And what does it mean, you are standing? It means that you exist and you are standing firmly.

The Baal Shem Tov explains, that we are found meritorious in judgment.

And in this Shabbos, which is before Rosh Hashanah, the last Shabbos of Chedosh Elul, we read this parasha, Atem Nitzavim, Tzehu Berchasei Shal Kadesh Baruch Hu.

And this is God's blessing this month, and from this blessing, we take the strength to bless all of the subsequent months.

Okay, so the Baal Shem Tov makes a statement, and then he explains what does the bracha of Hashem on this Shabbos Mevorachim look like.

It's found in the parasha B'Av.

And as Rebbe always does, he drills down into the specificity of the words.

And he says, from the fact that Baal Shem Tov says, the whole portion of that this is the blessing of Hashem and he doesn't say and he doesn't say we read on this Shabbos the words behold you are standing today and And that is what the Baal Shem Tov does earlier when he explains that Atem Nitzavim, behold, you are standing, means you are standing firmly and you are found meritorious.

So it's move on, it's understood, that the blessing of Hashem, ain't a rock, that the blessing of Hashem, ain't a rock, that the blessing of Hashem is not just found in or alluded to in the first three words of the Parsha, but rather it's the general Parsha.

It's the entire Parsha in which the blessing is found.

And based on what is explained elsewhere, the two Parshas, Atem Nitzavim, Here the Rebbe explained something unique about Nitzavim and Vayelech.

That in essence, they are one Parsha.

But sometimes this one Parsha is divided into two.
