“Are You A Godly Example?” – Rabbi Steve Weiler (06/06/2026)

So, I guess we could have a quiz now on what I'm going to talk about.

Because there are really many topics we could talk about from that verse.

Moses and Elijah representing the Tanakh.

Yeshua representing the Hebrew Scriptures meeting up together.

And we could talk about Yeshua being the light.

We could talk about all those things.

But what I'd like to talk to you about is these, Yeshua, Moses, and Elijah.

were similar and special in one particular way that I can think of.

Well, probably many ways, but one particular way.

And that is that they mentored others They discipled others.

They had somebody following them.

And so notice Yeshua didn't come alone to speak to Moses and Elijah up in the air, so to speak.

But he came and brought Peter, Jacob, and John together.

so that they could experience this for themselves, so that their faith would be strengthened and they would go to others and those would go to others and still others would go to others.

When you define the word transfigure, it implies a change on the outside that exalts or glorifies someone.

So obviously Yeshua's divine nature was shown and so he was the light in that transfiguration.

But that's exactly what God wants to do to you and I.

He wants us to be transformed, transfigured, that the light of Messiah would reflect in us, that people would see that.

And for all of you who have an attitude and say, don't judge me, you're wrong.

Say, please judge me.

I want to be judged because if there's anything that I'm doing that does not reflect the Lord, I want somebody to tell me.

I might not agree with you, but I want to hear it because there was some reason You might have said that, and I need to hear that.
