Titus 2

We always like to end our broadcast with a note of hope.

Notice Titus 2 verse 13, which says, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Christ Jesus before God's wrath hits planet earth.

And it's coming very quickly.

There's a promise in the Bible that the believing will be leaving the pre-tribulational rapture of the church.

Not only that, but the Bible tells us that they are to be stay-at-home moms too.

Titus 2, verse 5 says to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home.

You know what that means? It means that according to the Bible, a woman's place is at home, in the kitchen, cooking, cleaning, teaching the children, and aiding in the affairs of the home.

Let me say this.

There's no other way around it.

Titus 2 says, in all these things, show yourself to be a pattern of good works in doctrine, showing integrity, gravity, sincerity, sound speech that cannot be condemned.

It's a living pattern.

It's a visible model of a life that matches what you're teaching and professing that others can see.

Like if we need clarity, we need to be emphatic and we need to be reminding ourselves of what is true.

So if I think of a healthy women's ministry that is not buying the lie of autonomy, like how would you think that that women's ministry should look like? How does, for example, Titus 2 calls us away from independence into a generational relationship where women are actually exercising her gifts by teaching, learning, encouraging one another?

Yeah.

Well, I think Titus too, I mean, you bring up as one of the clear places and really only places where you sort of have gender specific, if I can say it like that, um, like look at teaching and And discipleship in the local church.

And so you have this category of older women teaching younger women, older men teaching younger men.

And so whatever women's ministry is in your church, Titus 2 should be at the forefront of your mind.

What should be consistent is not...

Do we have a big teaching platform for ladies in our church? Do we have a certain Bible study that we can have? Some of those things may be good and really good for your context.

The Bible says in Titus 2, verse 13, Paul says, while we wait for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Did you know that's good news? Did you know that's a hope? Did you know concerning the second coming that there are hundreds of prophecies that have to be fulfilled before Christ can ever come back to the earth? But did you know that regarding the rapture, there's not one prophecy that's needed before he could come? Did you know that? Somebody help me.

Did you know that? I need some amen so I can stay awake.

Grace is not permission to compromise.

Titus 2, 11 and 12 says that the grace of God teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires.

In other words, grace doesn't excuse compromise.

It transforms us.

Grace teaches us.

What does it teach us? Listen to Titus 2, 11-13.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, It teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age while we wait for the blessed hope, the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Can grace teach a person to do that? Well, I've met many people who say, how can you live if you don't have the laws of the Old Testament? How will you know what to do? Friends, Grace teaches us.
