Push Square Covers Shenmue Art Reveal10:55 – 13:22

10:55

So first topic in the world of Shenmue is Push Square covered our recent art reveal.

11:02

They did.

11:03

So obviously going back how many months now? Two or three months? Because obviously we did that show with Stu, didn't we?

Matthew OliverHost

11:10

Yeah.

Matthew OliverHost

11:11

Yeah, it would be about that.

11:12

Yeah, obviously we released a set of 23 new pieces of artwork, I believe, that we managed to grab.

11:22

And if you've not checked these out, guys, do so.

11:26

And yeah, interesting.

11:27

Push Square.

11:28

What did they say, Matt?

Matthew OliverHost

11:29

So Pushkwa, I will say a little bit of background.

Matthew OliverHost

11:32

They are very much Shenmue fans over there.

Matthew OliverHost

11:34

Sammy, who is the editor, Sammy Bark is the editor over there, runs the place, is a big, big Shenmue fan and did us the honour of covering the artworks and sort of just broke them down, did a little bit of a piece around how we got hold of them, where we got hold of them from, also made reference to the other artworks that we released, what, 18 months ago now as well.

Matthew OliverHost

11:55

I did ask a question when I was speaking to him about whether I thought there were any more out there.

Matthew OliverHost

12:00

And I said, absolutely, categorically, there will be more out there.

Matthew OliverHost

12:03

We just haven't seen them yet.

Matthew OliverHost

12:05

So and I did make the point of saying, if anybody sees any, let us know because we will go after them.

Matthew OliverHost

12:11

I do think what one negative of these artworks being released to the public is that people are aware of this sort of stuff.

Matthew OliverHost

12:19

And it drives the price up, doesn't it? Which makes it harder for us to get hold of these things.

Matthew OliverHost

12:24

But on the flip side, we're never going to not go for them because from our perspective as a site, we need to preserve it.

Matthew OliverHost

12:30

And this is just another addition for us to preserve some good stuff in there.

Matthew OliverHost

12:35

Landy little color model was really cool.

Matthew OliverHost

12:39

Finding out that Mao was in fact going to be Ren's fiance.

Matthew OliverHost

12:45

That may still play out.

Matthew OliverHost

12:46

That was probably the biggest reveal of it as well.
