and um there was a lot of like tutorials menus it felt very overwhelming so at the time i didn't really get into that but someone at work was talking to me about kingdom come deliverance 2 and said that they put 700 hours into both games so i was like thinking back i was like oh actually The guy that made Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, his inspiration was Shenmue.

Yes, yes, yes.

I think we might

have even talked about this on the show.

It was mentioned in the BAFTA when Shenmue won that BAFTA poll.

I think he came out and said, oh, I love Shenmue.

It's one of my inspirations.

They mention Alone in the Dark, Resident Evil, Silent Hill.

And they also mention Shenmue as well.

So it's like, was this their idea of what Shenmue meets Silent Hill could have been?

That sounds like a recipe for success in my eyes, yeah.

Yeah.

So, yeah, this is probably my favourite game on the Dreamcast, for sure, I'd say, other than Power Stone 2.

did have Shenmue 2 on the Xbox, and... lent it to someone never got it back and then found out how much it was worth on xbox um because it was not a cheap game to buy when i went looking for another copy of it I don't know if that's improved, but...

Dino Crisis, they did some planning on that and some programming on that.

Uh, production, production cooperation.

Shenmue II, Electric Boogaloo.

Um, production cooperation, whatever that means.

Um, a sequel to The Firemen on the PlayStation.

Bet that's where they come in.

And I think we saw the fruits of this into things like Shenmue.

Oh, yeah.

you know, leading into those kind of big games that were very realistic.

It's just awesome.

Like Ivy as well, like the whip sword, just how that moved around.

And as you said as well, Shenmue as well.

I can't...

I really want to avoid publishers because I've had so many friends who just had nightmare stories with publishers who just like, you know, just not market them, not care about them, ghost them, drop them.

It's like... uh i mean i'm still open to it if i can find that really good publisher but as much as possible i always try to you know tell people try to do it yourself you know um and so yeah the plan is to do kickstarter and yes you are correct it used to be bigger and 2012 and these years like when mighty number nine um bloodstained and all these other big games that did millions Shenmue, I think, in 2015.

I mean, that one is already popular, but yeah.

They can make so much more money.

It is Sunday night, it is gone past 8:00 o'clock, and I see what you're trying to do there, Purvis.

Shenmue did not lead Sega becoming a third party, but [laughs] trust me, there were a lot of things that led up towards the, the Dreamcast release that Sega were in some dying straits over, but that's another discussion for a, a little later I would think.

But anyway, we're here.

So you can tell this is only gonna bring in Sonic Adventure 2 as well as some of your obvious, uh, Sonic-y, uh, ones right there.

Though I also ended up, uh, mentioning games like Jet Set Radio, Shenmue, PSO, Fa- uh, Skies of Arcadia, quite a bunch of other different things right there, and it's, uh, pretty easy enough for me to turn, end up going towards a big variety of titles right there.

And, um, and of course, uh, there was some artwork that, uh, David167 ended up sharing, of course referencing some other games that have indeed, that will indeed get some air time on the, uh, Space Channel 5.
