What if the story you tell yourself about your health is not entirely coming from your mind—but is being influenced by what is happening inside your body? In this episode of **ReversABLE**, Josh Dech…

And I think another interesting thing is, like, we can have these judgments about ourself, and you just, yeah, you said a self-fulfilling prophecy, a vicious cycle.

I'm a terrible person, so I'm gonna eat bad food, which makes me feel bad, and then I, I make another judgment about myself, and then I wanna just have something to relieve the burden of my existence.

I can go, I, I think I mentioned before, I still take a thyroid medication, and if I go three days without the thyroid medication, I'm just certain that, that the sky is going to be falling.

And so this just shows how powerful that hormones a, a impact hormones have on our system.

And we don't have to be going through-- we don't have to have the most severe of physical symptoms.

It doesn't have to get to your, your skin covered in acne, joint pain, or bloody stools or whatever the case may be for this to be present.

The other side's definitely the bad guy and ruining things when maybe we're just feeling gut dysbiosis.

And there's so many things that amplify and predate on this outside of us as well.

You know, news stations and social media, they like us feeling bad and going for these dopamine hits.

And I don't think there's, like, a unified conspiracy, but just, like, this is a consequence of modernity that I don't think we've fully understood or comprehended, and we're, like, still building towards it in a lot of ways.
And, and I know today is not specifically, like, just a gut conversation, but given it is what I do, I love that we can circle it back and say, "Look, we know that lower levels of Bifidobacterium," which if you got COVID and you got sick with it, you may have eliminated up to 100% of those microbes in your body, by the way.
And we need those for feelings of connection and love, and even empathy is connected back to your gut microbes.
But, you know, our listeners are going through, they're, they're hearing all this stuff, saying, "Okay, blah, blah, blah, you know, like I'm trying to tell my story, not tell me what my gut is.
