Well, I invite you to turn in your copy of God's word to Proverbs.

We're gonna be all over the book, but for our reading, turn to Proverbs 2.

We'll read one through five, and then we will pray.

Hear the inerrant word of God yet again this Lord's day.

My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding, Yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

Amen.

Please be seated.

The grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of our Lord stands forever.

Bow your head and pray with me.

Lord, we ask your favor now on the preaching of your word.

We ask that you would use your word to conform us to Christ.

We ask that we would see your glorious truth.

We ask that we would be shaven of the sin that we allow to cling to us like moss or lichen.

And we ask that this time would glorify you and it would be free from distractions, even the preacher himself.

Use your word for your ends.

We know that you will.

You remain faithful.

You always send your word forth to accomplish its purpose, just like you send forth rain to accomplish its purpose.

We trust in that, Lord.

Increase our faith, we ask in Christ's name.
