Proverbs 31

I will be actually presenting a story tomorrow that I'm going to go into, and that is regarding Glad Tidings Vancouver.

She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

Her husband is respected at the city gate and she makes linen garments again.

There's a lot of linen.

I mean, the whole, the Proverbs 31 thing for women, it's a lot about sewing.

Many of the scriptures are about sewing.

I do not apologize for creating something meaningful and earning a small wage for that resource.

Then I would probably tell her to go reread Proverbs 31 because that woman was an entrepreneur and she did not apologize for charging for her goods and neither will I.

And here's the part that I absolutely love.

If this was me, I would offer her a book for free and tell her that if she just gave me her email, I would send a electronic copy right over because I'm a very generous person.

Oh, and to have a business, build a business from it so you can create wealth.

Have you steward that? Have you multiplied that? Have you served your people with your God-given genius zone? Did you provide for your household and give and build and obey what God said to do? That conversation actually matters.

And can we all please go reread Proverbs 31? I'm going to again because I think we have shrunk the Proverbs 31 woman down to a woman who planned meals, wakes up early, and keeps a tidy house.

Read it again.

But it's the opposite, isn't it? And we see that this is the reality there, that when mankind moves in this direction and there's an overemphasis upon physical beauty, then the world becomes very corrupt.

Proverbs 31 verse 30 gives some wise instruction on this topic.

It says, "...favor is deceitful and beauty is vain." but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

You need more than just physical beauty in a marriage to make it last.

Quote, End quote.

Proverbs 31, 11.

Quote, I value her more highly than I would the whole kingdom of France and the sovereignty of Venice, for God has given me a pious wife.

End quote.

At the beginning of Shabbat, they praise Our Lady, but they don't even know it.

They recite Proverbs 31, who shall find a valiant woman.

But they don't realize that they're actually calling out to Our Lady.

So this is at the heart of it.

Well, for our devotional today, we are in the book of Proverbs, actually in the very last chapter.

And you've heard me often mention that I love Proverbs 31.

Now, I have not accomplished all that Proverbs 31 sets as what the Bible says could be some goals or characteristics of the virtuous woman, but I sure do try.

And as I read through it, so often the Lord will say, Joanna, we can work on this or work on that.

But we're actually going to go to the first part of the chapter today.

We see it everywhere we go.

And I believe it's going to come back on us as parents that we have a responsibility to raise our children, to give them the principles, the character that they need.

So I studied here in Proverbs 31, and I saw four things that King Lemuel's mother taught him.

What do you think the standards are that a man has for a woman?

To be peaceful, to be nurturing, to add value to his, whatever his situation is, to be able to build and grow with him and be teachable and be submissive like i would think the proverbs 31 you

feel like that's a crazy high standard or do you feel like that's just normal i'm not

saying it's too high

Those are all basic qualities of what it means to be a female.

Men want feminine women.

women, feminine, like too many no limit soldiers out here and not enough Proverbs 31 princesses.

Y'all need to take them pants off.
