Anthony BucknerGuestAll right, let's talk about a couple of the big ticket items right at the top here.
I don't know if you were aware or not, but the case in Senatobia where the little one-year-old, a Corn Wiley, was shot and killed by officers out there.
The state's attorney general in Mississippi ruled that that case was in the officers.
And I'm pretty sure that many folks not only are upset but are angered by that decision.
We've still not seen any body cam video that was on during that incident as well.
That was a rather shocking thing that we found out this afternoon in reference to all of that.
Do we not? Memphis and Shelby County Schools, we have an elected school board, and we also have an appointed oversight board that was done by the state.
Last week, a judge, a federal judge, said that the oversight committee – could move forward with their agenda, could move forward with taking over and doing what they needed to do in reference to all of that.
They were starting to get into it a little bit, and they were supposed to have a meeting this afternoon.
But earlier today, a state judge, a chancellor, decided that – It's back on pause.
They are on pause until this court case can be adjudicated one way or the other.
The judge that heard the arguments today said there's too much in all of this.
He has a lot of work to do to go through all of it to make a determination one way or another if this stay, will be lifted once again.
So if you did not hear, the appointed oversight committee for the Memphis and Shelby County Schools, they are on pause once again until a judge makes a decision as to if they move forward or when that happens.
City Council, and you remember two weeks ago, the big brouhaha at City Council in reference to the council members voting on a moratorium for these data centers that are going up.
You know, a lot of people were expecting them to vote for a moratorium or delay is what that's called.
Well, they did not do that two weeks ago, and it just broke out into almost a riot in the city council chambers last week.
