And what I started to notice during the twenty twenty-four election season was they have a strange alliance now with the Christian nationalists that I've been studying for, for decades.

Uh, somehow the tech oligarchy and the radical traditional Catholics like Kevin Roberts at, at Pro- at, uh, the Heritage Foundation and, you know, people like Doug Wilson and Pete Hegseth, they all see themselves as on the same team.

Tech oligarchy scares the hell out of me, but those folks teaming up, uh, I think is even more terrifying.

It's a much bigger program than it, than it was, uh, you know, 30, 40 years ago even.

Rachel Sheffield is a research fellow with the Heritage Foundation.

She says the program ballooned after the 2008 recession.

During the Obama administration especially, those, those work requirements were all, you know, they were waived in the vast majority of states, and that continued for many years.

Yeah, well, you know, I think a lot of them did actually vaporize in 2024, 2025.

Some of the implications of Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation blueprint for what the Trump administration has become, what a lot of the new federal policies and executive orders have been.

There has been a real unwinding on transparency.

I mean, like support for trans life, just like, you know, there has been an unwinding of environmental regulations and, you know, many, many other things.

Well, Michael, Milton Friedman described Hong Kong as the best example of a free market economy in action.

Do you remember those Heritage Foundation used to rank the world's freest economies? Hong Kong was top for 21 consecutive years until 2015.

You probably remember those surveys that come out every year.

Are we losing that? Yes.

I'm just wondering, you know, how does Tennessee compare to other states when it comes to registering, getting folks to register to vote?

You know, unfortunately, while we're number one in election integrity, of course, the Heritage Foundation, we rank among the bottom ten states in the country when it comes to voter registration and voter participation.

And all it would take to change that is if everybody who's a registered voter would try to find one more person who's not registered and get them, and we would go from the very bottom, the bottom 10, we'd go to the very top.

We'd be number one.

Who knows for how long, but they are back.

Now, one man who was causing some difficulty for Prince Harry during his short stay in the United States, was Niall Gardner of the Heritage Foundation, who was leading the charge to have the exact reasons that Prince Harry was given a US visa despite his confessed drug use in the past, published in a long FOI battle with the United States government, was Niall Gardner.

Niall, where do we get to in all of that? And do you suspect that one of the reasons that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to up sticks and move back to the United Kingdom, because it was about to be revealed, there may have been some rules bent to allow them to even be in the United States in the first place?

So once again, when Ronald Reagan says that the nine words that scare him the most are, I'm from the government and I'm here to help, that's because Republicans have never liked the idea of government helping.

And what's very important to remember is that Ronald Reagan's presidency, that's about the first time that we see a Project 2025 style mandate given from the Heritage Foundation to a president.

And that's important because when they gave that Heritage Foundation mandate to Ronald Reagan, Ronald Reagan then began to implement a significant majority of the policy recommendations of the Heritage Foundation, which is to say that most of the Republican, well, all of the Republicans since then, since Ronald Reagan, have been committed to receiving instructions from the Heritage Foundation.

And then magically, their policies and the things that they sign off on and the things that the Republican Party advocates for just so happen to be in line with what the Heritage Foundation has desired.

And I think it's important for us to be aware of that because it seems as though we've reached a point where this is no longer going to work for them.

They broke government because Republicans hate when government does things like provide welfare for the people.

And this is not a surprise to me.

But evidently, there's an organization that looks at, well, Heritage Foundation.

And of course, everybody will say, Heritage, they're kind of a conservative organization.

Well, they are, but they do a lot of checking out of things.
