How Business For Good Went Bad – Kevin Edwards, CEO of Real Leaders

A little bit of a background about how I got into this space.

About six years ago, Jay Wilkinson came on the podcast.

I think it was episode 90 or something like that, about six years ago.

Wrote about 533 episodes today.

And I always try to bring some spaz to the podcast.

I think it's a really nice human element and a really nice way to connect with people.

And I do my typical introduction.

I go, all right, welcome everyone to this episode of the Real Ears Podcast.

I'm your host, Kevin Edwards.

Alongside us today, folks, we've got a good one.

We've got the CEO of Firespring.

Please give a warm welcome, coming from Omaha, Nebraska, Mr. Jay Wilkinson, everybody.

And I kind of got a reaction just like that right there.

It was like, who is this kid? What is he doing? Omaha, Nebraska.

But it's one of those things I just love talking about.

It's about that human element, those

awkward quirks, awkward

silences, humor, those things that make us human.

And on the show, it's kind of evolved into, I mean, it's just been amazing.

It's introduced me to so many different people.

We've had on leaders in companies like Cotopaxi, Patagonia, Honest Tea.

We've interviewed artists who are also leaders like Pharrell, Akon, Jeezy just came on the show recently.

Influencers, like I was talking today with Charisse in the crowd, she loves Mel Robbins.

Mel Robbins has come on the show, Gary Vee, Daymond John, Simon Sinek, Tony and Sage Robbins, incredible.

And one of the questions, I don't find myself interesting, but one of the questions that people ask me is, what do these leaders have in common? And the answer to that question is their ability to connect with a bunch of different people in a bunch of different ways And if enough people are connected, inherently, you have movement.
