The meeting followed a steep 12% third-quarter drop in the CSI 300 and a 31% slump in the tech-heavy Star Market 50, with selling pressure persisting after the National Day holiday until heavy buying, widely linked by traders to state-backed funds, helped indices pare losses on Friday.
