On today's show, Eli & Jen take a closer look at the injury reports for the Packers & Bears including the intriguing questionable status for Caleb Williams. Don't miss it!!! Visit…
Usually, we start with the Packers, but I feel like this is kind of something worth starting with, considering it just kind of was br- breaking news, if you even want to call it that, right, uh, before we started recording.
And it's definitely the most impactful injury of the game if it's gonna be involved here.
And I guess, you know, I mentioned it earlier, but Caleb Williams, who has missed the last two games, uh, right? Yeah, two games, and I had zero expectation that he was even in consideration to play this week.
On Monday, Ben Johnson said that they will not have Caleb Williams and that Tyson Bagent would be their starter.
And then what do we see Friday afternoon? Caleb Williams, uh, l- practiced in a limited fashion on Friday and is listed as questionable for the Bears.
I'm not, like, number one, I feel like the Packers, whatever, either they win this game just because they come out and need to win this game, it doesn't matter who's at quarterback.
So I'm not, it's not even about a Caleb, it's just- I don't think he's gonna play.
Jen, do you think this is just some, like, gamesmanship from Ben Johnson, uh, just to kinda get in the Packers' heads a little bit or do you think there's actually any s- any real chance that, uh, that Caleb Williams could actually play on Sunday after no one really expecting that to be a possibility?
Um, and, you know, maybe if it's another organization, maybe we're not even questioning it, but it is Packers-Bears, so everything has a little bit of intuition to it.
So yeah, I mean, he didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, and then all of a sudden, later here Friday, getting the notice that, oh, he was limited in practice.
And it's kinda like, in what form and are you trying to hint that there's a possibility he plays? Like, I still don't think there's any possibility that he plays.
Like, that's just, why, why rush somebody back for a week five rivalry game? Um, and I'm sure Bears fans are gonna think, like, that's 'cause we're scared or something.
I mean, it's just, we talk about injuries all the time and we've seen guys get rushed back and how that can hinder them later on.
So I would expect to not see him just because you would want him for the long run.
Um, but it would be very shocking if we did see him in any kind of fashion, but I would expect it's gonna be the backup send when we play on Sunday.
I just think it would be, it would just be irresponsible for a, a team in week five that, you know, I'm sure they have, uh, high aspirations for the season to risk it.
Yes, it's a Packer game, but if you put Caleb Williams out there and he re-aggravates his hamstring and makes it worse or does something to his, you know, another part of his body because he's overcompensating for, for a hamstring, and all of a sudden, you know, it's a serious, serious injury, you're gonna look back and think, "Why the hell did we do that for a week five game?" Even it being a Packer game.
So we're gonna go along with the assumption that Caleb Williams is not playing, and this is just Ben Johnson being himself, which means being a complete piece of garbage.
