GM removed CarPlay from a number of its newer EVs in favor of its Google-based native infotainment platform.

For example, GMC explicitly states that the 2026 Sierra EV does not have Apple CarPlay, and Chevrolet's current Equinox EV uses Google built-in rather than CarPlay.

Interestingly, GM hasn't extended the policy universally.

The upcoming 2027 Silverado and Sierra gasoline trucks continue to accommodate car play.

But so his background is he's been engineering various products for a wide range of companies for over 30 years.

And one day, this guy owned, you know, three different trucks from, you know, a Chevy half ton to two F-350 Super Duties.

And he probably owned a dozen different trailers that he was towing between.

And so one problem that he ran into is, you know, the second you own a trailer or a truck, you got everyone in the neighborhood coming over asking to borrow, whether they're moving, buying a new fridge from wherever it might be.

So what tongue weight is, so if I have a trailer that's fully loaded, let's say it's 12,000 pounds, and I connect it to the adjustable ball mount that's hanging down from behind my truck.

Once you take the trailer coupler and you attach it to that ball mount on the back of your truck, there is some force, some vertical force coming down on that ball mount itself.
