Children in Khan Yunis, a city in the southern Gaza Strip, returned to school in a UNICEF tent over the weekend.
Facing shortages in school supplies and with many of their school buildings destroyed, 541,000 Gazan students began their new school year in tents on Saturday.
According to Al Jazeera, for many of the students, it was the first classes they had attended in three years due to Israel's war on Gaza.
The news outlet reports at least four Palestinians, including a child and the son of Gaza's health chief, were killed in a wave of Israeli attacks across the Strip over the weekend.
Israeli forces have killed more than 73,900 people and wounded over 174,900 people, since the start of its war against Palestinians in Gaza in response to an October 2023 Hamas attack which killed an estimated 1,200 Israelis.
