So we thought we'd have you on because Matt just released a new book of which Paul is a contributor.

And this is a collection of essays on the topic of liberal socialism, along with an intro and a few other goodies, mostly written by me.

you know, from different outlets that I published with over the years, but also with some contributions from Paul, who wrote an excellent essay kind of offering his own oddly enough kind of libertarian inflected take on what liberal socialism could look like.

I think it does a couple of things that you wouldn't find in any other piece.

One of them is it gives you a real sense of the diversity of views that you can find even within the liberal socialist spectrum.

I know Paul will be happy to hear me say this, but it's not all Rawls all the time.

There are a lot of different ways that you can tackle this and look at it and understand it and then the other thing i think the essay collection does is um it tackles a lot more than just political theory issues uh obviously there's quite a bit of that and you can get your stuff on charles mills and cb person and stuff but we also write a little bit about modernity what the relationship of liberal socialism is to the right um characteristic you know questions about cultural studies etc etc so i think it's a pretty diverse and interesting book
