What if the greatest spiritual deception doesn't look dark What if it looks peaceful? In this episode of the *Orthodox Health Podcast*, Dr. Michael Christian & John are rejoined by our good friend…
[laughs] But today, we are finally circling back to a topic that honestly has probably produced some of the most engagement, pushback, agreement, disagreement, comments, and just general spiritual warfare of anything that we've done so far online.
That's right, Dr. Mike, which means we're probably exactly where we need to be here then.
So today, we're doing our Yoga 2.0 with our good friend Robert Sirico, who is a choir director, a catechist, and a doctoral seminarian.
And so his first episode with us was titled Stillness Without Christ: The False Promise of Yoga.
And in that conversation, we really dealt with the basic claim that everyone throws out immediately, "But yoga is just stretching." No, it isn't.
And so I think we made it pretty clear that it was not merely a set of mobility drills with Indian names.
It has a view of the body, a view of the soul, a view of salvation, of stillness, and of union, right? That's literally what the word means, to yoke, to unite with.
That's right, and one of the things that Rob said last time that really stuck out was that yoga prepares the body for supernatural contact.
That's a heavy statement, but it gets right to the heart of the issue.
We are not simply talking about hamstrings and hip flexors here.
We are talking about what the body is being trained to receive.
Absolutely, and that's why this follow-up matters because part one was necessary.
In fact, towards the end of the episode, we even mentioned there were other things that we didn't get to.
So today, we're not just asking, is yoga religious? We already dealt with that.
