Episode 235: How the media got the JB trade wrong

Because I think we were texting, and I had talked myself into a much better return.

So when I saw the return, I was shocked because I was like, I convinced myself they were going to get more.

And then as I started piecing together through like a Shams bomb here and like a Himmelsbach post here, like you start to piece together the guys who know what they're talking about.

And it turns out there's nobody wanted JD the league dead spoken and they did not want him.

And it's not because he's like a bad player.

He's obviously overvalued and overpaid.

I think he just like did not have a market.

And so now we can like tease it out from there.

I think knowing that to be the fact.

Yeah.

And the media just got this one so wrong and still like, I think they're missing so many key points in, in what really happened to, to your point, the value of, But, you know, I think it became pretty clear, too, that JB was poisoning the well a little bit, too.

And it came out that he— And that's not sour grapes post, like, the Red Sox slant

everybody who

leaves.

Yeah, it's not the John Henry recipe.

No.

And it was clear that what I'm saying, like the rumor and it seems pretty plausible because of I actually tied this back to JB's comment right after the trade occurred.

And so the rumor was that he said no to Portland and New Orleans when the Celtics were trying to do right by him and have the dialogue up front.

And then he said all of this.

But this is JB's reaction.

All of a sudden they went silent with me.

That just that lends credence to the fact that he was telling teams, I'm not going to go play for you.

So, yeah.

So the whole narrative of, you know, this is a ridiculously low value obviously was partly, you know, finger on the scale by JB.

Also, that also blows up the narrative.
