I think that the context in which this happens and that like the fact that it was like really easily believable given what we see on social media and Graffiti, stickers, general discrimination against Jews, exclusion of Jews who don't declare themselves to be anti-Zionists.
All of that isn't erased by the fact that these were gig violent perpetrators.
the people who were paying them likely working for the Iranian government were, you know, doing the thing that people have been chanting for for a long time, including in Canada.
Like, as far as I can tell, this is globalizing the Antifata, right? This is taking the fight to Western countries and, And using the Jews to destabilize them.
I think Yadina makes some like just chilling, but very obvious points that if someone came along and torched your synagogue and something terrible happened, like it was at three in the morning, but God forbid someone was in there.
As far as the whole climate and the whole big picture thing that this is happening in, I don't know that we get to rest easy just because it's not our neighbor, but it's some guy who's hiring our neighbor.
And this is coming from the way in which the Jewish community and especially some of the larger Jewish community institutions in Canada have been thinking about this.
This is going to lead to increased violence, to an event like at Bondi Beach or something like that.
We need to lower the rhetoric and we need to make sure that none of this happens.
What I would argue is that the rhetoric may be increasing, but if the only thing that is getting people to start being physically violent towards synagogues, even in this manner, is needing to be paid a lot of money by somebody who you don't even know, and you're basically doing it for any other... a mafia related torching of a waste man i don't know if it's mafia related i have no idea but but the report showed that there were many non-synagogue institutions that had been targets in the same sort of way uh by the same networks of people some of them may have been paid by iran some of them may have been paid by somebody else so the fact is is that the rhetoric is there 100 the violence is there but you haven't yet made the connection between the two because if the only reason why somebody is creating that violence is because they're getting paid then that break happens i
So first of all, I think it remains to be seen if all of these acts are being coordinated by some actually brilliant mastermind in Iran.
