Episode 116: Join us as we celebrate the 1990's and review the cult classic from 1998 The Faculty. Does this movie still hold up 28 years later?
Cool.
So, yeah, the faculty, the synopsis from IMDb is when Casey Connor, Harrington High School's newspaper photographer, witnesses the murder of a nurse and sees her alive again.
He decides to investigate the bizarre happenings.
So he has a name in horror.
He directed this, and it was written by, you can definitely tell, my boy, Kevin Williamson.
And the cast is just friggin' so stacked.
The list is going to take me forever to read off, but you have to because it's so iconic.
Jordana Brewster, Clea Duvall, Laura Harris, my boy Josh Hartnett, Sean Haddisey, who's making a comeback now with Ready or Not To and The Pit, Salma Hayek, we have Famke Jensen, Piper Laurie from Carrie, Christopher McDonald, bb newworth usher robert patrick our guy elijah wood john stewart i mean i could literally go on and on and on i mean they don't do casts like they did in the 90s and this came out actually christmas day 1998 and i think the you know the wine scenes and dimension were trying to go for like a scream repeat because the og scream and scream 2 came out in december and it kind of backfired a 63 million on a 15 million dollar budget but it wasn't like a huge stream hit so a lot of people say if they like released had better release date um it would have done better i would have done like september end of august back to school i honestly think that's why i won the poll because i kind of positioned myself for this coming out around back to school so i think if they released it would have done even better but it did good and obviously like so many movies it gained a huge um cult following in the years to come, as we see on social media and everyone talking about it these days.
So yeah, this is 90s prime time.
So I'm excited to get into this one.
Yeah, this one, the soundtrack alone definitely is.
It's so good.
definitely it's like one didn't we get a recommendation recently to do a soundtrack episode yeah i'm excited
yeah we did i sent a shout out to whoever recommended that it was on uh spotify i believe i forget their username i don't have it pulled up but they they um suggested that we do a soundtrack ranking so that that could be something that we could uh explore so that'd be cool yeah
I think they said like a score, like their favorite scores.
We could do both, yeah, for sure.
Yeah,
because we'd have to separate, I think, like a score compared to a soundtrack.
Yeah, it's so different.
So, yeah.
Yeah, I
