Melee - Scott Laudati on RAINBOW ROAD

uh so rainbow road i love this thing uh it's so cool to have a nice a new piece of scott lidotti work the cover is great uh if people can't see you'll see it around but beautiful pink i i i guess first off we were talking a little bit backstage and we decided to save it a little bit is this still in pre-order or can people just buy this thing all

right so this was never actually in pre-order i just i've seen so many people mess this up where it's like uh oh my book's out on thursday and then wednesday night uh I don't know.

So they try and publish it, but then the cover specs are wrong or whatever.

And I wanted to order a ton of author copies so I can have it by the time I have my release show this Thursday, the 25th.

So the thing's been live on Amazon for a month because I wanted to work all the kinks out.

And I've just been calling it a preorder, even though it's like you just everybody who's ordered the preorder has gotten the book in three days.

So people have been getting this book for a month.

yeah but i just keep selling it as the pre-order uh that's

that's clever man yeah

even like i have friends who are like on um bigger indie presses and it's the same thing like uh they can't get their author copies in time for their show or whatever so i wanted to work

right

all those kinks out and uh it worked i don't know yeah

Yeah.

Yeah.

No, that's that's the voice of experience right there, man.

It's like, you know, stuff's going to probably go wrong or not exactly right.

And just try to get ahead of it for sure, because, yeah, it's it's I mean, you're doing I assume you're doing like Amazon self-publishing.

Is that right?

Yeah.

yeah yeah so i'm familiar with that too and they're pretty good at handling stuff but i'll tell you what i bought uh i put put a picture of this online and you know i bought a bunch of author copies and the first shipment i got lucky because they sent it to the wrong address and they gave me my money back but then it was just the guy across the street had them they sent them across the street for me so i ended up getting all the books and not paying for them So I got like 50 books for free, which was pretty sweet.

And then I bought a few more, another box of 10 or something.

And they just threw them loosely in a box.

So they showed up and the covers were all out of whack and like creased.

I was like, well, I guess you win some, you lose some.

Dude,
