Ep 439: Supergirl (2016) Recap & Review

We are here to talk about the latest blockbuster superhero film to come out of DC, the DCU Supergirl.

It's on the tip of everybody's tongue for a variety of different reasons.

and I know a lot of people want to talk about what's been going on with this movie and I guess a lot of people are just wondering I think the main question is is it as bad as everyone is saying it is because there is what I am feeling like a smear campaign currently going on with the film and I think it is affecting a bit of the box office but There's a lot of tried and true bets that they're trying to take, like things on like Mandalorian Grogu.

A lot of these movies that they swore were gonna make its money back are having a little bit of trouble.

Meanwhile, Obsession is making 18 times its budget, you know, seemingly overnight.

But before we get into the full recap and review and tear this movie apart in the best way, just talking about all of its scenes and stuff, I'm gonna go around in the same order that we introduced ourselves.

and asked, without spoilers, what your expectation was about this film and whether or not you liked it or not.

So I'll start with you, the witch,

our resident female.

No, no, not the pressure, no.

I had no expectations and it was cool.

It was okay.

It wasn't my favorite thing ever, but yeah, it was fun.

I probably had lower than usual expectations and it was better than I thought it was going to be.

But it felt very safe is what I'll say.

The things that I disliked the most about it felt safe, not malicious or like silly, if that makes sense.

Asa? I had...

I would say medium to medium-high expectations, and I felt like it met what I thought, but like in a positive way.

Awesome.

GT?

I had pretty middle-of-the-road expectations, and I'd say it met them.

It was good.

I can dig it.

Yogi, we were talking about Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow last week.

And you actually got to see this film before all of us did.
