Like that's where I've grown is that like, well, that's actually, it's Superman.

The fact that he's from Krypton means he can fly on our planet.

It also means he's vulnerable to kryptonite.

Both of those things make him Superman.

Supergirl was mainly focused on her relationship with her dog.

I mean, yeah, we get Krypton, aspects of Krypton, but that's not really crazy DCU world building.

The only thing that really has done that is Superman.

Even Peacemaker kind of sets the tone for everything in Peacemaker.

But let's start with the $1,000 minute, that cue to call coming up after 7.

This marks the beginning of our multi-part look at General Zod across time and media, and we're kicking things off with a special double header.

But it was very, very odd.

But I think if you look at the genesis of this, it was originally one of those 48-page European albums that they repurposed into filler for two issues of Action Comics.

But it actually does, you know, completely sort of reference, without Julia Schwartz bothering to put in any eldest notes, you know, actual sort of, you know, Silver Age story, you know, Superman's Day of Truth, which introduced the Varang as the alien race that's in there, and the original Jew Kryptonite story, which could be used as a focus by phantom zone criminals.

But I find it really, really entertaining in the fact that, you know, the fact that The point of the story turns out to be that the criminals, the D'Sauden Corps, don't want to take over the Earth or wreck the Earth on this occasion.

They want to get revenge on the Wrangs, and Superman ends up teaming up with them on this one occasion.

we learn the identity of the four visitors to the Scarlet Widow.

A fragment of the former planet Krypton on which Superman was born, and which by some strange chemical action renders him weak and helpless when he comes within ten feet of it, has been stolen from the Metropolis Museum by a henchman of the Scarlet Widow, who is known as the most dangerous woman in the world.

While Superman seeks desperately to trace the Kryptonite, his four deadliest enemies arrive mysteriously at the Scarlet Widow's ornate penthouse apartment.

As we continue now, Sniggers, the widow's ferret-faced little henchman, gasps in amazement as the four master criminals are about to enter the drawing room.

I absolutely loved this run.

You have a quote, never forget the lesson of Krypton because some worlds simply can't be saved, not from themselves, from issue one.

And that is absolutely moving because I can relate to the sentiment as an immigrant.

We're told here, we're told to come here and keep our heads down because quote, some worlds can't be saved like the countries that we escaped.
